The Reading Place of Culture, a project run by Reading Borough Council, Reading UK and Reading University, have created a virtual ‘venue’ called Reading Culture Live, showcasing events and activities created by local cultural organisations and artists for our community.
As we already know that taking part in cultural activities and events are some best ways to make us feel good, we are looking for partners to run online projects inspired by the NHS 5 steps to mental well-being and delivered by Reading’s cultural sector.
These are hosted on our new digital streaming platform – Readingculturelive.co.uk.
We’re offering funding of up to £1000 to support creative online projects created by individuals and organisations based in Reading.
Who is it for?
This funding is open to all artforms including but not exclusive to, dance, visual arts, theatre, music, storytelling, sculpture, design, fashion, poetry, film, cabaret, photography, crafts, literature, digital media, heritage and museums.
In this round we will be focusing on the following priority areas:
Projects that involve young people between the ages of 11 and 18
One time entertainment events that audience members can engage with online – please click here for reference (please note this is an 18+ event)
Projects that encourage our audience to explore our town and/or heritage
We are not discouraging applications that do not respond to these priority areas, but please note that the decision making panel will be awarding extra points to those that do.
What does digital mean?
When we say digital what we mean is that the final output must be in a form that can be shown on Reading Culture Live. Please take a look at www.readingculturelive.co.uk for some examples.
The deadline for the second round is the 30th of July.
