Older People’s day – Memory Project pt1
Welcome to the Older People’s Day 2020 Memory Project video collections! Run by Reading Borough Council, Age UK Berkshire and Age UK Reading, this year the Memory Project documented first-hand the eye-opening experiences of Berkshire’s local older people during lockdown and the coronavirus pandemic.
In each video you’ll find raw and honest accounts of things our local older friends did in lockdown, things they missed, and perhaps most powerfully, things they felt – from loneliness and isolation, to gratitude and joy. Some stories may make you laugh out loud and others may make you cry, but all will show you the inimitable spirit and resilience of older people, and prove just how much they can do.
Some submissions are read aloud by children from Southcote Primary School, local voice actors and Age UK Berkshire’s staff.
Don’t miss the virtual event on Older People’s Day on Thursday, October 1st on www.readingculturelive.co.uk. Everyone is welcome!
There is also still time to register a free place for yourself, a client or a loved one for the older people’s virtual coffee morning hosted by Age UK Berkshire!
