About the host
Andrew Taylor’s now-lapsed German language studies at school led to lasting friendships and many visits to Germany since. Naturally this includes our twin town, which he visited most recently to lead members of Reading’s Aldworth Philharmonic Orchestra (APO) in a collaboration with Düsseldorf-based guitarist Arturo Castro Nogueras, following their previous performance together at the Reading Fringe Festival.
The Reading Düsseldorf Association is a voluntary association that promotes the friendship between Reading in the UK and Düsseldorf in Germany. This is the oldest link between a British and a German city, begun in 1947. It is now an official town twinning. The Association encourage new friendships between people and groups in our two cities.
This event was live on 19th July 2020.
