Digital Advent Calendar – Door 21: Reading Poets’ Christmas Cracker
Welcome to our Christmas Cracker – 6 local poets hoping to add baubles of delight and festive feeling to your Christmas.
Christmas means many different things to each of us and these poems range from the funny to the sad; they serve to mark the season which, for so many, is a chance to recalibrate, assess and celebrate those we love and loved and those we’ve lost.
Our poets have been widely published and are each committed to promoting poetry in the local community. They are stalwarts of Reading’s longest-running poetry platform, Poets’ Café, members of The Poetry Society and various local poetry workshops and initiatives.
Our chosen charity
“The chosen charity is the RNLI in memory of my late mother. This will be our first Christmas without her. She was a keen sailor and was a supporter of the RNLI for 25 years.” – Claire Dyer
