Action Media Challenges
The project is using the formation of a production company to support young people to:
- Build confidence and teamwork
- Develop their communication skills
- Prepare for the workplace
- Inspire other young people and the wider community
Young people, particularly those who are NEET (not in employment, training or education) often struggle to find suitable work experience to help them prepare for future employment.
Young people will be able take part in a wide range of practical work experiences activities including the setting up and running of the Action media company, social media, marketing and documentary video production. They will also have the opportunity of gaining Arts award qualifications
In the mean time, the Action media team at Real Time and Starting Point have produced a number of online video, design and photography and challenges aimed at young people.
Action Media is a partnership between Real Time and Starting Point (a project of The Mustard Tree).
As part of Reading, Place of Culture, supported by the Great Place Scheme, funded by Heritage Lottery Fund, Arts Council England and Historic England.
